Me, Me, Me!

In Grade 11 computer class, students are currently learning to use graphic design and photo editing software.  One of the assignments we are working on is called "Me Me Me."
Students head out with a group and a camera, and frame photos of themselves somewhere in the school three times. Then, using graphic design software, they build a composite image from their footage.
This assignment serves a number of curricular purposes.  It allows students to be creative outside of the classroom, and then return and polish up their graphic skills.  During this project they learn about lighting, masking, copying and pasting, and repairing artifacts in a digital photo.
Mr. Gerryts: "In the end though, it is also quite a bit of fun."
