What was the first day back to school like for students at Smithville Christian High School?
We gathered in the gym for opening chapel.
We were welcomed by Principal Ted Harris, who encouraged us to take the combination of unique personalities that God has created in us and together create a community "in which God lives by his spirit" Ephesians 2:19-22.
We introduced new students and teachers and shook some hands.
We heard announcements about the volleyball, basketball, and choir tryouts, and sign-ups for art club and cross country (plus two jokes from Mr. Robb).
We were introduced to student leaders.
And we prayed a blessing on the school year.
Then we went to class and started in on the business of being a learning community together. We are so blessed to be a school where the unique gifts of every student are seen as a blessing, and where we are all challenged to make sure that everyone flourishes by Belonging, Believing, and Suceeeding.
